I was born in the summer of 1983 in Southport, England where I can still be found drawing my life away. I started drawing like many people at a young age mainly after school and at the weekend with my cousin we were often creating weird colourful characters and the worlds they lived in. We would spend hours on end sketching away on paper with coloured felts and pencils and when we had both had enough we would sellotape them together to make a zine. I suppose using my imagination instead of drawing bowls of fruit on a regular basis definitely helped me develop my own illustration style at a young age.
Many years later at the age of 16 I enrolled on a course at Southport College studying Art and design this is where I first began using Apple Mac computers. Throughout the course I tried to use the Macs more so then pencil to make my artwork, this didn't really work for me and when I think back some of the work was pretty shocking. After college I continued my studies at Liverpool John Moore's University doing graphic arts. It was there that I decided it was time to go back to the pencil approach which I felt gave me more creative control. It has basically gone full circle for me and the methods I use today. I do enjoy using a mixture of new techniques and old skool ones, but to be honest I still feel more comfortable drawing in a sketch book with a pencil.
